What is the start time?
A: Start times for all events will be confirmed in early July

How many bands are playing?
A: A total of 18 bands

How many stages will there be?
A: There will be three stages. One on Friday at the Distillery, and two at MacEwan Hall on Saturday.

Is this festival moving to other cities?
A: No. This event will only be featured in Calgary.

Will band merchandise be available at the show?
A: Yes. Each band will be given its own merchandise area.

Venue

Will this Festival be indoor or open air?
A: The Distillery, the Den and MacEwan Hall Ballroom are all indoor venues.

Will there be a bag check?
A: Yes. Attendees are strongly encouraged to arrive without backpacks, large bags or luggage.

Will there be a smoking area?
A: Yes. There is an open terrace for smoking.

Will there be alcoholic beverages?
A: The Distillery is a licensed 18+ bar/lounge. There will be a Beer Garden at MacEwan Hall where ID will be required.

Is there a nearby place to get food?
A: Food is available in the Den and at the Distillery

Is there a cash machine at the venue?
A: Yes, ATM's are located on the second floor of the student centre in the food court. Please visit ATM prior to the concert.

Is there re-entry?
A: No, as previously stated, food is available in the Den, smoking will be available on the adjacent terrace, and alcohol will be served to 18+ in the beer garden.

How do I get from the airport to the venue?

Tickets

Do I have to be over 18 years old to get in?
A: You have to be 18+ for Club Night at the Distillery. The events at Mac Hall are All Ages.

If I order tickets through your website will they be mailed to me?
A: All of our website purchases are mailed right to the homes of our customers.

How do I get issued a press pass for this festival?
A: If you represent a legitimate metal journal/webzine or metal radio show, please contact us with your details.

Info for Interested Bands

How do I get my band on this bill?

A: When we stage a show, we have a specific focus planned, along with specific bands in mind. If we want your band to play, you are probably already on our radar. However, please feel free to contact us. You may or may not get a response from us, but we will try our best to get back to you. Before you contact us however, please be aware of the following:

1. Please do not contact us to play the show if your band is not show-ready and/or you do not have a full line-up already in place.

2. If you are an Alberta based band: at minimum you must have your own proven draw with our local Calgary audiences and most preferably have established name recognition and fans beyond Calgary and depending on the show, beyond Alberta.

3. If you are over-exposed in this market (i.e. if you are playing every other weekend), we are unable to consider you.

4. If you are under-exposed in this market (i.e. you have had no shows, or rarely appear, or have no songs on your website or MySpace) we are unable to consider you.

5. If this will be your first show we are also not able to consider you. Exceptions to this are the following:

a.) You and/or select members of your band are experienced artists with a successful past project under your belt. If this applies to you we'd like to hear a demo in order to consider providing a debut for your band.

b.) If you are a young band in the All Ages market. We recognize it's not easy to come by All Ages shows or Bar shows when you and your band members are under 18, so we are willing to consider you. Again, we'd like to hear a demo.

6. For out of town/non-Alberta Bands: We generally do one-off All Ages shows and Festivals and do not generally book bands on tour. Our festivals almost always have exclusive appearance clauses. If you want to be considered for a slot in our festivals, you need to have some name recognition and fans in Alberta. The only way that generally happens is if you are either very good and the buzz has travelled, or if you have played in Alberta previously and have established a fan base here. If we have never heard of your band before and/or you have no music on your website or Myspace and/or you have no buzz in your local market, we will not be interested in booking your band.
